I got an email today about dealdotcom, I’m curious to see how this goes! Looks like fun!
I’m hoping to post more to my blog, I know I haven’t been using it as often as I should.
More soon!
Have a good one,
Wendy

Another great website resource is Domain Site.
I purchase my domains through them and highly recommend their services.
Most domains cost $6.99 and changing DNS information doesn’t take long to take effect.

I’ve used Energized Hosting for quite a while now. I host all my sites and quite a few of my client’s sites there. I am a reseller, so I do provide hosting though I don’t advertise this service. Originally it was just cheaper to do this than having everyone pay for separate hosting.
About six or so months ago, the hosting company I was using (before Energized Hosting) disappeared, taking all my sites with them. There were no contact numbers and when the hosting was down so was their email support. This was very much taken into consideration when finding a new hosting company. Energized Hosting has phone, email and website chat support and I have a couple representatives from the company on my AIMessenger list.
I haven’t had issues with them and when my sites go down, it’s not for very long and usually when I contact them they fix the issue before I’m off the phone or chat with them.
I always advise clients to host their site at a different company than where they buy their domain name(s). If one or the other goes down it takes less time to reinstate your website(s) if you have different companies handling each. Rather than finding both a new host and a new domain registrar you only have to replace one of them.
Another thing I advise clients to do is to buy their domain names and hosting with their own account rather than letting their web designer purchasing it in their name… allowing them to have control of everything. You’d be surprised how many people have a website that they don’t own. Then when you try to leave or move your site, you run into many issues. I’ve done this a few times for clients and quite a few times it involved redesigning or recreating a whole new website, which takes some time.
Take care and happy web maintenance,
Wendy Cooper

I’m revamping my website because I’m not taking on any new clients. This does not mean I’m disappearing! :) I will still have an online presence and will blog more frequently. I have lots of great projects in the works and have an overload of client work right now.
I’m adding sections to the blog for all the resources, links, etc that are on my website.
Please bare with me while I make the changes. There will be an influx of posts to my blog while I move everything over.
Please let me know if anyone wants to take over the events calendar (this link will be dead once I make more changes to the site). It would make me very happy to have someone else take over this awesome free resource for the online business community.
Take care,
Wendy
